1. Are They A Member of the Australian Funeral Directors Association?
In selecting an AFDA member you can be assured your funeral director is bound by a strict code of ethics and conduct.

2. Is your Provider a Funeral Director or a call Centre?
Not all direct cremation providers are the same, Most funeral director, direct cremation providers will provide in house mortuary and transfer services, this means your loved one is held in their funeral home, somewhere you can attend to if needs be. Other providers may sub contract out all services to other providers and you may never know where your loved one is being cared for.
3. How quickly can the cremation take place?
Can you select the day of cremation or will your chosen provider wait until they have sufficient cases to take multiple people to the crematorium?

Victoria is one of the few states that does not have private crematoriums. This means all are crematoriums in Victoria are controlled by Department of Health & Community Service based Trusts. Cremation fees are higher in Victoria than Private Cremation operators interstate. We utilise the services of two Crematoriums, Remembrance Park in Central Victoria and Springvale Botanical (for ABC Cremations PLUS+ Option).
6. What is ABC PLUS+
ABC Cremations PLUS+ option is for those who require return of cremated remains quickly (within several Days after cremation or prefer the cremation occur in Melbourne.

We use and recommend the Daisybox®. The Daisybox® is an earth friendly alternative to traditional timber coffins, made from strong corrugated fibre board with natural cotton rope handles. Some families choose to collect the daisy box from us and decorate it prior to cremation, adding a personal and touching farewell to their loved one.
